ABOUT US

The Templeton Philharmonic are a comedy duo based in Toronto, Canada. Comedians Gwynne Phillips (STARZ’ American Gods, CBC’s Gayl Pile) and Briana Templeton (SyFy's The Expanse and Amazon's The Boys) are known for their unique brand of comedy that blends period pieces, surrealism, and biting social commentary with a feminist bent. The pair have performed sketch comedy on stages across North America - including the San Francisco Sketch Comedy Festival, Toronto’s Massey Hall and beyond. Their work has picked up awards such as “Best Duo” at the LA Comedy Festival, “The Just for Laughs Award” at Montreal Sketchfest, “Producer’s Pick” at the Toronto Sketchfest, and more.

In addition to their live comedy shows, they are the writers and creators of several award winning film projects and immersive theatre pieces.

Their recent film, The Women’s Hour, is now streaming on CBC Gem.

Listen to their original audio series, None of Our Business, on Audible.

The pair (Gwynne Phillips and Briana Templeton) are delightfully vivid, likeable performers who specialize in bizarre, off-kilter characters and premises.

The Templeton Philharmonic are definitely a comedy troupe that I would see over and over again. Aside from being incredibly clever, cunning and amusing, comediennes Gwynne Phillips and Briana Templeton are versatile beyond belief, switching between characters, voices, movement, time periods, genres, genders and performance style at the drop of a hat. Seriously, is there anything these two can’t do?

There was something hilarious in every sketch. If it wasn’t in the writing, it was in the commitment the actors brought to each scene.
